Sixty Vines in South End Charlotte is a newer spot that focuses on a robust wine menu and expertly crafted food selections.
The Menu
From pizzas to pastas to main entrées, Sixty Vines has a wealth of options to choose from. The pasta dishes look small, but they're plenty of food to leave you satisfied. Appetizers are also great sizes for sharing, and everything that I tried was fresh and bursting with flavor. My tip? Get the mushroom and leek fromage.

The Experience
The Sixty Vines servers' knowledge plays a key part in a positive experience — especially since they have 60 wine selections. Our server was very helpful in deciding which wine to choose, but I was a bit disappointed in the advertised wine flights. I was expecting four small tasting glasses, but getting a flight is essentially just ordering four half pours. The wine itself was fantastic, but four large glasses taking up half the table just for me felt awkward. Next time, I'll just order them one or two at a time. The interior was large, well-decorated and extremely busy. I visited within the first few weeks of opening, and the hype was palpable. It was overall a pleasant dinner, and just a little on the crowded side.
The Value
For an elegant dining experience, I can confidently say that I got my money's worth. The wine prices were standard for Charlotte, but they also offer half glasses so guests are able to try different varietals. Though the entrées were on the more expensive side, the pizzas and pastas were in the $16-20 range. You could easily have a great $40 night out at Sixty Vines and leave satisfied.
Overall
Don't miss this spot for your next girls night out! The food and drinks are excellent, and it truly feels like an luxurious experience without any stuffiness. Sixty Vines deserves a solid 8/10, though I'm sure it'll be even more spectacular next time when I visit and some of the wrinkles are ironed out.
